How much do German Shepherd puppies cost at VST?
Between $2,500 and $3,500 depending on the litter and lineage. A deposit reserves your place; the balance is due before your puppy goes home.
Where are you located?
We're based in the Georgia/Alabama line area, with most pickups happening in Roanoke, Alabama, where our whelper is located. Pickup near Athens, GA and surrounding cities can also be arranged!
Do you have German Shepherd puppies near me?
If you're anywhere in Georgia, Alabama or the wider Southeast, most likely yes. Litters are whelped in Roanoke, Alabama, close to the Georgia line, and families drive in from Atlanta, Birmingham, Columbus, Montgomery, Athens, Auburn and further out across Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida. Email us with where you're based and we'll tell you honestly whether the drive makes sense.
How far is pickup from Atlanta, Birmingham or Athens?
Roanoke, Alabama sits roughly halfway between Atlanta and Birmingham, and each is a comfortable drive of under two hours. Columbus and Auburn are closer still. From Athens, Georgia it's a longer run, so we can sometimes arrange pickup nearer Athens instead — just ask before you travel.
Do you deliver or ship outside Georgia and Alabama?
We regularly place puppies with families across Tennessee, South Carolina and beyond. Most families pick up in person in Roanoke, Alabama; email us and we'll talk through options for your area.
What health testing do the parents have?
The parents are FCI or OFA-certified for hips and elbows and have completed full genetic health screening before ever being bred. We'll send you the certificates on request.
Can I meet the parents?
Photos and video of both parents are always available on request, and a visit can be arranged — just ask.
How does the waitlist and deposit work?
Applications are reviewed in the order received. Once we've been in touch by email and you've placed a deposit, your spot in the litter is held and you'll start receiving weekly photo and video updates.
What is Puppy Culture and ENS?
Puppy Culture is a structured socialization programme for the first eight weeks. Early Neurological Stimulation is a short daily handling routine from day three to day sixteen. Both are associated with calmer, more adaptable adult dogs.
What food do you feed the puppies?
We feed Purina Pro Plan Sport Performance 30/20 Chicken & Rice Formula, a high-protein dry dog food. Every puppy goes home with a starter bag and a feeding guide.
How do you protect against fleas, ticks and intestinal parasites?
Something we've always used is Trifexis or Simparica Trio. You'll need to talk to your veterinarian before starting either — we strongly recommend doing so once you bring your puppy home at 8 weeks old.
Are your puppies AKC registered?
Yes. Every puppy is AKC registerable and goes home with the paperwork.
Do you deliver puppies to families outside the Southeast?
Yes. Delivery or flight-nanny transport can be arranged at the buyer's expense — tell us where you are and we'll price it honestly before you commit. We don't ship puppies as unaccompanied air cargo.
What genetic testing do you run?
Every one of our dogs is run through a full Embark panel, which screens for 273+ genetic diseases. All of ours are clear across the board, and DM-negative — not merely non-affected carriers.
