Von Schönen Träumen means “of beautiful dreams.” It's a mouthful, and most people just say VST, which is fine by us.
We started in 2018 with a simple idea: breed German Shepherds that hold up to the standard the breed was written to, and raise them somewhere they'll be handled every day. That second part is why our puppies are raised inside the house rather than in a kennel building. By the time a puppy leaves us at eight weeks it has heard a vacuum, met children, ridden in a car, walked on four kinds of flooring and been handled daily since day three.
What we breed for
Structure and temperament, judged against the SV standard rather than our own taste. Health first — OFA hips and elbows and a full genetic panel before any dog is bred, no exceptions and no “we'll do it next time.”
What we won't do
- Breed a dog that hasn't cleared health testing
- Run more litters than we can raise in our home properly
- Ship a puppy as unaccompanied cargo
- Place a puppy with a household we don't think is a fit, whatever the deposit
After you go home
Lifetime breeder support isn't a marketing line. Email us at two months or at nine years. And if your circumstances ever change and you can't keep your dog, we want that dog back here rather than in a shelter. That's part of the deal, permanently.
